The Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska* started in the mid 90's in the Wayne area and has since been taking in and rehoming animals in the Norfolk area as well as the rest of Nebraska and all throughout the United States!! We strive to provide humane care for abandoned, neglected or abused pets for adoption purposes and to educate the public about the proper care of animals. We are completely funded by donations and we were finally able to open the doors to our new shelter in March of 2016 and since then we have taken in over 1200 cats and dogs! We have the capacity to currently hold about 35 cats and about 35 dogs at any given time.
